till my fiancé slapped me across the face before saying “i do”, i think he found her corpse in the basement.

 

결혼식날, 시어머니는 아직 날 못마땅하게 여겼지만 모든 것은 완벽했다.

“그래 나야.”라고 말 하기도 전에 내 약혼자가 뺨을 올려붙이기 전 까진,

아무래도 지하실에 있는 그 여자의 시신을 발견한 것 같다.

 

 

The serial killer swore that the voice in his head compelled him to commit evil deeds, but obviously none of us believed him, so he was locked up.

그의 소름끼치는 죽음이 있던 날 밤의 CCTV 영상을 검토해 보면, 우리는 그가 침대에 누워 머리를 움켜쥐고 자비를 구하며 "하지 마세요"라고 소리치던 모습을 보았고, 그 후 그의 뇌가 두개골에서 터져 나와 허둥지둥 도망갔다.

As I watched his eyes grow wide in panic and he started to gurgle and claw at his throat, it suddenly struck me that maybe it was whiskey and rye he had asked me for.

 

내 남편은 어렸을 때부터 언어 장애가 있어서 문자 "r"을 정확하게 발음하지 못했다.

그의 눈이 겁에 질려 커지고 목을 할퀴며 꾸르륵 소리를 내기 시작하는 것을 보면서 갑자기 그가 나에게 요청한 것이 위스키와 호밀(rye)일지도 모른다는 생각이 들었다.

"Specimen fourteen in containment," dully muttered the scientist before checking a box on his clipboard, "specimen fifteen in containment, specimen sixteen..."

As he stared at the empty incubation tank in front of him, the scientist didn't notice the jagged grin emerge from the darkness behind him.

 

격리 중인 표본 14개." 과학자는 클립보드의 상자를 확인하기 전에 둔하게 중얼거렸다. "격리 중인 표본 15개, 표본 16개..."

과학자는 자신 앞에 있는 빈 인큐베이션 탱크를 바라보면서 뒤에 있는 어둠 속에서 들쭉날쭉한 미소가 피어오르는 것을 알아차리지 못했다.
