"Got him!" I thought when I saw the alien shapeshifter enter a room I knew had no other exits or windows.

Upon entering the room I was disheartened to find it full of napping toddlers but to save the Earth I started shooting.

 

"잡았어!" 나는 외계 변신 장치가 다른 출구나 창문이 없는 방에 들어가는 것을 보고 생각했습니다.

방에 들어가자마자 낮잠을 자고 있는 아이들로 가득 차 있어서 낙담했지만, 지구를 구하기 위해 촬영을 시작했습니다.

 

 

As I hanged in the dark garage I saw a car crash through the wall.

As the policeman looked inside I could only cry as he went back.

 

어두운 차고에 매달려 있을 때 나는 자동차가 벽을 뚫고 들어오는 것을 보았다.

경찰관이 안을 들여다보고 돌아설 때 나는 눈물만 흘릴 수 밖에 없었다.

 

 

Pulling out an ingrown hair, my wife said the keratin looks like brains.

We both laughed, until the thin spidery legs started coming out, too.

After years of watching my husband drink and drive, I knew that he at least had a steady hand, even when he was black out drunk.

But as the smile on his face turned into a grimace and he begins drunkenly murmuring “gut the slut”, I began to realize that I do not need to worry about the knife slipping from his hands, I need to worry that he is really serious this time.

 

남편이 술을 마시고 운전하는 것을 몇 년 동안 지켜본 끝에 나는 그가 술에 거나하게 취했을 때에도 최소한의 안정된 손재주를 갖고 있다는 것을 알았다.

그러나 그의 얼굴의 미소가 찡그린 얼굴로 바뀌고 그가 술에 취한 목소리로 "창녀의 내장을 꺼내”라고 중얼거리기 시작하면서 나는 그가 술 취해 칼을 쓸 때도 안정적일 것이라는 것을 깨닫기 시작했다.

 

 

The boy, who could extract and bind even the tiniest fragments of metal with his mind, had graduated from making chopsticks and trinkets from nothing more than gravel, to miraculously engineering irrigation and clean water systems for his village.

It wasn't long before he was abducted by operatives of the state and interned in a factory, extracting precious metals from difficult ores for smartphones.

 

가장 작은 금속 조각까지도 마음대로 뽑아내고 만들 수 있었던 소년은 자갈로 젓가락과 장신구를 만드는 일을 시작으로 마을의 관개 시설과 깨끗한 수도체계를 기적적으로 엔지니어링하는 일까지 해냈다.

얼마 지나지 않아 그는 국가 요원들에게 납치되어 스마트폰에 사용하기 위한 귀중한 금속을 까다로운 광석에서 추출하는 일을 위해 공장에 수감되었다.
